The International Federation of Community Health Centres will present the CHC concept at the 39th International Hospital Federation (IHF) conference in Chicago2015_IHF_Chicago_Ad02_A4 (1)

After the closing plenary: “Building the Global CHCs Movement Together” at the #ACAC2015 in Ottawa this is the second joint action of the international partners of the IFCHC in less than one month. During the previous years the IFCHC has build a fine relation with the IHF management which shows interest in the concept of Community Health Care. This has resulted in an invitation for a workshop with the title “Building a Solid Primary Care Continuum for the Health System” which will be chaired by Associate Professor Paul Dugdale of the Australian National University representing our Australian partners. European, American and Canadian representatives will explain the added value of the Community Health Centre concept and how this is implemented in their region. A challenging discussion will follow with a majority of delegates based in secondary, specialized care services. Our presenters are:

  • Bill Davidson, Executive Director centre Langs Community, Health, Wellness; Canadian Association of Community Health Centres – CACHC (Canadian representative within IFCHC)
  • Heidi Park Emerson, health services researcher, Public Policy Division, National Association of Community Health Centers – NACHC (US representative within IFCHC)
  • Marc Bruijnzeels, director Jan van Es Institute, Almere, The Netherlands and member of the Alliance for Community Oriented Primary Care, Working Group of the European forum for Primary Care (European representative within IFCHC)
